Job Summary

Provides direct clinical services to the Family Resource Centers (FRC), including comprehensive psychosocial assessments, completing Massachusetts Family Strengths and Needs Assessment (FSNA), and short-term treatment and care planning to youth and families at the FRC. Provides mental health/substance abuse counseling to children, adolescents, and families at the agency’s sites throughout Berkshire County.

Essential Job Functions

  • Adheres to all applicable state and federal regulations; ensures compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Completes diagnostic and/or psychosocial assessment and provides individual, family, and group treatment. 
  • Completes the Massachusetts Family Strengths and Needs Assessment (FSNA) and/or the Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment
  • Completes referrals for services as indicated by the assessment and FSNA/CANS.
  • Develops Care Plans/Family Support Plans/Treatment Plans for youth
  • Delivers treatment in sub-contractors’ facilities and designated FRCs.
  • Maintains client records, completing all necessary paperwork in a timely manner including required state documents and authorizations.
  • Coordinates treatment components and communicates with all collateral agents.
  • Provides consultation to community agencies on mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Coordinates treatment components and communicates with all collateral agents and contractors for FRC. 

Qualifications, Experience, and Education

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other clinical concentration.
  • Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) certification is required within first 2 weeks of employment.
  • Licensure required within 6 months of eligibility.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and 3 years’ experience as a clinician preferred. 
  • Prior experience working with children and families in a clinical setting strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in providing individual and group mental health/substance abuse and family counseling strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of dynamics of mental health/substance abuse treatment, intervention, and education.
  • Basic knowledge of community resources.
  • Basic diagnostic and treatment knowledge and skill.
  • Ability to work on interdisciplinary team.
  • Valid Driver’s License and use of personally insured vehicle for agency business.
