The Van Driver provides safe, reliable, and welcoming transportation for youth and adults participating in Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (nbCC) programs, events, and community activities. This position supports nbCC staff and community partners by providing transportation that helps community members access programs, services, events, and other opportunities throughout Northern Berkshire.

Hours: Part-Time, Maximum 250 Hours Annually
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $17.50/hour
Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
- Community Transportation Responsibilities:
- Safely pick up and transport youth and adults to and from nbCC programs, events, meetings, and community activities.
- Provide transportation support to nbCC community partners when requested and coordinated through nbCC.
- Assist the nbCC team with transportation needs related to programs, events, and community activities.
- Follow established pick-up and drop-off schedules and communicate promptly with nbCC staff regarding delays, schedule changes, passenger concerns, or other transportation issues.
- Provide timely, respectful, welcoming, and professional transportation to all passengers.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries when transporting youth, adults, families, and other community members.
- Vehicle Safety & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the nbCC van in accordance with Massachusetts motor vehicle laws and nbCC policies and procedures.
- Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip checks of the vehicle and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the van.
- Promptly report accidents, vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, safety issues, or other incidents to the appropriate nbCC staff member.
- Ensure passengers follow appropriate vehicle safety requirements, including the use of seat belts.
- Operate the vehicle safely and appropriately in varying weather, traffic, and road conditions.
- Organizational Responsibilities:
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with youth, adults, families, nbCC staff, and community partners.
- Represent nbCC in a welcoming, respectful, and community-centered manner.
- Maintain regular communication with nbCC staff regarding transportation schedules and needs.
- Support transportation needs for nbCC events, activities, and programs as requested and based on driver availability.
- Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned, consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
