POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Developmental Specialist is responsible for working with 1 – 5 individuals in a site based day program. This position is a direct service role in which the developmental specialist assists individuals with developmental disabilities with skills training including: independent living skills, communication, behavior and affective development; sensory motor, social development and self-help as prescribed in each member’s Day Habilitation Service Plan.
QUALIFICATIONS: Min of 18 years of age. High School Diploma/GED must possess basic math (addition/subtraction) skills, ability to read & write, communicate effectively both verbally and written, ability to multi-task and exercise good judgement. Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks including but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E-verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certification checks (i.e. nursing). Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.
