A temporary cook is needed for assignments and special events in Dining Services. Variable work schedules include day, evening, weekend and holiday hours based on department needs. 

Review of resumes will begin immediately, and continue until the position is filled.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items while making sound production decisions involving menu quantities
  • Assist in constant food quality during meal periods i.e. temperature, texture, flavor and presentation and interpret and follow recipes in accordance with HACCP
  • Complete production sheets at the end of each meal period
  • Maintain safe and sanitary food production areas
  • Assist in recipe development during down periods

Qualifications

  • Ability to relate to customers and staff in an effective manner
  • Serve Safe and/or HACCP federal guideline certification is preferred
  • Ability to work without immediate supervision and lifting heavy objects is required
