 Williams College, a Division III institution and a member of the New England Small College Athletics Conference (NESCAC), is pleased to announce an opening for an Assistant Coach for Volleyball. This is a full time, 10-month, term appointment with the possibility of renewal. The salary is $29,620 and comes with a full meal plan. The position is fully benefitted and also provides full tuition-remission of graduate school after six months of employment

Williams Volleyball has consistently been regarded as one of the top volleyball programs in the Northeast, with a tradition of success at the regional and national levels. The program has won eight NESCAC titles including four straight from 2001-2004 and three straight from 2007-2009. Williams has appeared in 13 NESCAC championship matches since 1994 and participated in the NCAA tournament 11 times, including four trips to the Elite Eight and seven trips to the Sweet Sixteen. Our volleyball family has a history of team success on and off the court with many players earning individual accolades including All-Conference, All-Region, All- American and All-Academic honors. We compete in the highly competitive NESCAC conference which has elevated itself to one of the region’s and country’s toughest conferences for our sport in Division III.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in all areas, including:

  • Student-athlete development
  • Practice and game day coaching
  • Practice design
  • Travel organization
  • Team transportation and driving
  • Budget
  • Home game management
  • Video and statistical analysis
  • Recruiting: correspondence, talent evaluation, on-campus visits
  • Administrative office duties
  • Other duties as assigned by head coach

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and collegiate competing and/or coaching experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively preferred
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA and NESCAC rules
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach, and coach highly talented scholar-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment 
  • Valid driver's license is required

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
