Day Program Support Staff

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay: $20/hour

We are seeking compassionate, reliable Day Program Support Staff to provide direct support and supervision to adults participating in a structured day program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, values dignity and inclusion, and is committed to health, safety, and person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Participant Support & Supervision

  • Work collaboratively with program staff and managers to follow daily schedules, routines, and activities

  • Support participants based on their individual strengths, needs, and goals

  • Assist with and consistently implement individualized support and behavior plans

  • Provide supervision and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including mobility, feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, and transfers

  • Support participants in meaningful activities and programming that promote independence, choice, and engagement

Health, Safety & Communication

  • Monitor participants’ health and well-being and follow all safety procedures

  • Report changes in health status, injuries, or concerns per agency protocols

  • Respond appropriately in emergencies, including calling 911 when required

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment

  • Understand and comply with mandated abuse and neglect reporting requirements

  • Ensure participant rights are respected in accordance with MA and CT DDS guidelines

Documentation

  • Complete required daily documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and injury reports

  • Follow agency policies and procedures related to documentation and confidentiality

Training & Professionalism

  • Attend and complete required DDS and agency trainings in a timely manner

  • Maintain required certifications (First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, etc.)

  • Participate in meetings, supervisions, and team collaboration

  • Communicate professionally with participants, families, staff, and visitors

  • Follow all agency policies, including confidentiality and employee handbook guidelines

Qualifications

 

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work as a team player with professionalism and compassion
  • Reliable, responsible, and respectful of individuals served
  • Must pass CORI
