Berkshire County Arc is a non-profit human service agency that has been providing community-based services to adults with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries for over 50 yrs. Berkshire County Arc’s mission is to assist and support individuals in their quest to identify and realize their chosen lifestyles. This is accomplished through various programs offered: residential homes including independent apartments, employment services, day programs, adult family care, transitions, advocacy & family support, special needs pooled trusts and a mail-house staffed by people with disabilities that serves dozens of businesses across Western Massachusetts.

Berkshire County Arc’s programs are offered in Berkshire County and Pioneer Valley. We serve nearly 1,000 individuals per year and have over 700 dedicated staff.

Mon-Fri  Day Hrs  40/wk

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to work in a variety of Berkshire County Arc day program settings independently and reliably. 
  • Be a regular and consistent support for day programs throughout Berkshire County. Consult with program staff and teams weekly regarding general behavior issues, Positive Behavior Support implementation and trainings. 
  • Participate in meetings conducted by team for the support of the individual and/or the staff who are day program participants regarding Universal or Targeted plans, Safety concerns, or Community access. 
  • Conduct regular and objective program observations in a variety of settings and provide recommendations and feedback on Universal Supports as needed, as well as review recommendations regarding treatment approaches to staff and management as required. 
  • With the supervision and support of the Director of Behavioral Services, create, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and contribute to comprehensive functional assessments.

 

 

 

  • A  Bachelor’s degree- ideally in psychology, special education, social work, or a related field. Extensive behavioral knowledge and or experience with ABA. At least 3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities and or brain injury. 
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
