Job Summary:
The Design Engineer is responsible for the development of 2D and 3D files, drawings, and layouts of vehicle parts and assemblies. This position requires independence in resolving complex design challenges and non-routine drawing assignments to support our mission-critical vehicle production.
What You’ll Do:
- Create designs for metal fabricated parts and assemblies using SolidWorks 3D
- Generate full truck models and related documentation for the production department
- Manage files effectively using PDM software & an ERP system
- Self-sufficient within a team environment to manage multiple projects of varying urgency and complexity
- Collaborate with production staff to review designs and resolve manufacturing concerns
- Complete Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to repair or modify current designs as assigned
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials for manufactured and purchased parts
- Implement process improvements via design optimization and manufacturing techniques
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of mechanical background experience
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
- Efficient with Microsoft desktop applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining strict deadlines
