RBT Behavior Technician (ABA) Responsibilities
In this role you will provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy and individualized supports to children ages 0-3 with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and challenging behaviors for the purpose of increasing language, self-help, play, social skills, ADL skills, and decreasing challenging behaviors in various settings. You will work under the supervision and support of a BCBA to provide services on a regular schedule in homes or in a community setting in south and central Berkshire county. You will work collaboratively with other EI specialists and families in support of the goals, objectives and strategies identified in the child's behavioral treatment plans. 

Must obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and complete Safety Care training within 6 months of hire date

RBT Behavior Technician (ABA) Qualifications

  • Ability to be provisionally certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) as a paraprofessional or Behavior Technician which requires a bachelor’s degree any major, or
  • Associate’s degree or 60+ Credit Hours in related field, or
  • Associate’s degree or 60+ Credit Hours in unrelated field and one of the following:
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents in ABA field or early childhood or special education with home-based experience preferred
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT), Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT), or Senior Behavior Therapist 
  • Basic Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Knowledge of community-based health systems and resources
  • Infant and Pediatric/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience with electronic documentation or ability to learn.
  • Schedule flexibility to meet the needs of families.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to effectively communicate based on the needs of the audience
  • Strong ability to positively represent UCP and provide a conscientious and caring attitude
  • Ability to perform essential job functions through in-person, face to face contact as required, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance
  • Evidence of immunity for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
  • Acceptable CORI, SORI and DPPC background checks and National Fingerprint Check.
