The Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is an independent YMCA located on 1500 acres in the beautiful Berkshires of Western MA close to nationally renowned cultural and historic attractions such as Jacob’s Pillow and Tanglewood. Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA operates several programs serving hundreds of campers and staff at a time. Boasting over a century of tradition, our industry leading programs include Camp Becket for boys and Chimney Corners Camp for girls, Travel Service Programs, and Becket Day Camp.

Our hiring process is on a rolling basis. Positions will be filled as qualified applicants apply and applications will remain open until all positions are filled.

Camp Becket -A historic and traditional boys+ overnight camp on the shores of Rudd Pond, Camp Becket employs more than 100 staff each summer and serves over 300 campers in each of its two, four-week sessions.

Chimney Corners Camp - Just down the road from Camp Becket, Chimney Corners Camp for Girls has been providing life-changing experiences to girls since 1931. Chimney Corners employs over 100 staff each summer and over 300 campers attend one of two four-week sessions.

Travel & Service Program - Our travel programs service over 100 teens each summer and travel both domestically and abroad. Each group of approximately 14-16 participants finishing 10th grade are led by two leaders.

Day Camp - Work with local youth in our summer day camp program. Children aged from 6 to 15 years old in one-week sessions.

Support Staff - Medical, food service and maintenance staff positions are available across summer program departments.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years of age and/or have graduated from high school by the start of camp. Prior experience with one of our programs or with another camp program is preferred. 
  • Prefer staff who are certified or who are willing to become certified in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and/or CPR.
  • Prefer candidates who can commit to the full summer; however, we will work with staff to accommodate scheduling conflicts. 
  • Must be able to provide proof of a physical within the last 18 months and proof that you are up to date on all required immunizations.
