The Southern Berkshire Regional School District has an opening for a District Grounds Position
Start Date: Immediate
Length of Work Day: Full Time (8 hours)
Wage: Starting Salary $22/per hour, commensurate with experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience working with grounds equipment.
- Experience in maintaining grounds and other maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of grounds care, maintaining playground equipment, and previous experience lining and maintaining athletic fields.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
General Duties:
- Mow/Maintain all athletic fields, playgrounds, and lawns and shrubs throughout the district.
- Keep grounds free from trash and debris.
- Maintain and line all athletic fields, Tennis and Basketball courts, tracks, etc.
- Maintain a supply of parts for emergency and ongoing maintenance of grounds equipment and playground/athletic equipment.
- Clean and service maintenance/grounds vehicles as needed.
- Plow, sand, shovel snow and ice throughout the district (starting time 4 a.m.)
- Keep a supply of gas, oil, parts, etc. for maintenance of vehicles.
- Assist with general district Maintenance projects as requested by your supervisor.
- Substitute as assigned for custodial staff at Mt. Everett and outlying schools.
- Clean and service grounds bays, office and bathrooms.
Valid driver’s license in required.
