Our client, a respected Berkshire County non-profit, is seeking a Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator to work directly with individuals and families participating in housing assistance programs. This position provides coaching, case management, resource coordination, and advocacy services designed to help households achieve greater financial independence, housing stability, educational advancement, and employment success.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping people overcome barriers, build meaningful goals, and connect with community resources that support long-term self-sufficiency.
PAY RANGE: 47K-51K Depending on experience
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and support to participating households.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive self-sufficiency plans based on each participant's goals and needs.
- Conduct participant intakes, assessments, enrollments, and ongoing follow-up meetings.
- Identify barriers to success and connect participants with community resources related to employment, education, training, transportation, childcare, healthcare, financial literacy, legal services, and other supportive programs.
- Monitor participant progress and maintain regular communication to ensure goals remain on track.
- Maintain accurate electronic case records, documentation, reporting, and program databases.
- Ensure compliance with program requirements, funding regulations, confidentiality standards, and agency policies.
- Coordinate with community partners, service providers, landlords, advocates, and other stakeholders to support positive participant outcomes.
- Assist with the administration of participant escrow accounts and required program reporting.
- Prepare reports and provide program data to support organizational and funder requirements.
- Organize meetings, participant engagement activities, and collaborative partner events as needed.
- Participate in required trainings, professional development opportunities, and program meetings.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience in case management, social services, community outreach, workforce development, housing services, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with low-income individuals and families.
- Knowledge of housing assistance programs and community resources.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
