JOB SUMMARY: As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for armored vehicles. You will work on integrating video systems, OEM components, hydraulic systems, lighting, control systems, and CAN-based networks. This role requires knowledge in circuit design, wiring schematics, bench testing, and the development of continuous improvement strategies. Additionally, you will work with OEM suppliers to ensure seamless integration of their components and troubleshoot any electrical issues in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the integration of electrical systems into armored vehicles, including video systems, OEM components, lighting, and hydraulic systems, to ensure compatibility and optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with OEMs to integrate third-party components (e.g., cameras, sensors, lighting) into the vehicle’s electrical architecture, ensuring all systems meet operational requirements.
  • Develop and manage new circuit board designs, including schematic diagrams, component selection, and circuit layout for vehicle control systems, lighting, and other electrical subsystems.
  • Create detailed wiring schematics and diagrams for electrical systems, ensuring clear documentation for assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues across various vehicle subsystems. This includes diagnosing complex electrical issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Design and conduct bench tests for new electrical circuits to ensure they meet design specifications and functionality before deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with OEM CAN (Controller Area Network) systems, ensuring proper communication between various vehicle subsystems.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of electrical systems, developing more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. This includes evaluating new technologies and processes for implementation.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and production teams to ensure smooth integration and functionality of electrical systems.
  • Support the project lifecycle from conceptual design through to production, ensuring that electrical integration requirements are met on time and within budget.
  • Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards, military specifications, and industry regulations.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two plus (2+) years of electrical engineering experience
  • One plus (1+) years in an Engineering role in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical
  • Experience with SolidWorks design software is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft desktop applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Citizenship Requirements (ITAR Export Controls)

  • Hands-on experience with welding, fabricating, machining, automotive/industrial painting, and/or production assembly work is a plus
