Job Summary:
Miss Hall’s School seeks a Sous Chef to help enhance our dynamic culinary program. The Sous Chef position works collaboratively with the Director of Culinary by contributing towards menu design, standardized recipe collection and overseeing a strong contemporary kitchen to meet the diverse culinary needs of the Miss Hall’s School community.
The right candidate will have a strong knowledge of current, exciting, innovative food trends and an understanding of kitchen management. The desire to help teach and grow our team is essential, and a willingness to provide delicious, well prepared, restaurant-quality food is a critical part of the role.
Commitment to the culinary field and desire to excel is important as this position offers growth and opportunity. The position works in collaboration with the Director of Culinary and on menu development and event planning. Requirements & Responsibilities
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Culinary Degree preferred, or equivalent experience and training
- Strong communication, cooking and time management skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Catering experience
- Assist with supervising and training the Culinary Team
- Prepare meals, including catering events
- Assist with record keeping, including production, temperature, waste, and communication logs
- ServeSafe certification
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and to serving a diverse, global community

Range: $25 to $28
