Assistive Technology Regional Center (ATRC) Program Manager

Schedule: Full Time 37.5 hours

 Location: Pittsfield, MA  

The Assistive Technology Regional Center (ATRC) Program Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive assistive technology services that support individuals with disabilities in increasing independence, safety, communication, access, participation, and quality of life. This position completes outreach, education, technical assistance, and short-term device loans through the Assistive Technology Regional Center, in alignment with the Massachusetts Assistive Technology Act Program through ATAP funding by MassAbility.  Specific Job Duties

  • Operate and support the short-term 30-day Assistive Technology Loan Center, including responding to requests, making phone calls to individuals requesting items, confirming needs, coordinating device availability, completing loan paperwork, and arranging pick-up, delivery, return, or shipment as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, loan records, borrower communication, device condition notes, and follow-up documentation for the Assistive Technology Loan Center using the paper forms and massability.at4all.com website.
  • Provide documentation for clients to complete anecdotes and other documentation for contract deliverables.
  • Provide technical assistance to individuals, families, caregivers, educators, employers, service providers, community members, and partner agencies regarding assistive technology options, funding pathways, device use, and service navigation.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support for UCP Remote Support Monitoring clients when needed.
  • Plan and conduct outreach, demonstrations, presentations, trainings, and community education activities related to assistive technology and the Massachusetts AT Act program, including services supported through ATAP funding by MassAbility.
  • Collaborate with other Assistive Technology Professionals on staff to share expertise, coordinate services, review recommendations, support complex cases, and maintain consistent program practices.
  • Provide technical assistance to individuals, families, caregivers, educators, employers, service providers, community members, and partner agencies regarding assistive technology options, funding pathways, device use, and service navigation.
  • Promote awareness of assistive technology resources, the 30-day loan program, demonstrations, trainings, and technical assistance opportunities throughout the community.
  • Collaborate with other Assistive Technology Regional Centers in Massachusetts, including centers operated in partnership with Easterseals, to coordinate device loans, share resources, support referrals, align practices, and strengthen statewide assistive technology access.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, data collection, reporting, and quality improvement activities required by UCP, MassAbility, ATAP, and applicable grant or program expectations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of assistive technology trends, devices, applications, accessibility features, best practices, disability-related resources, and relevant state and federal assistive technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of AT for purchases of new technology and/or supplies for the ATRC.
  • Maintain social media presence, including but not limited to, Facebook, Instragram, LinkedIn, and YouTube on ATRC events, new technology, or technology of the month.
  • Supervise the ATRC Support Associate and the ATRC technician and report to the Sr. Director of AT when needed.
  • Complete ATRC metrics on contract deliverables to maintain contractual obligations.
  • Meet weekly with the Sr. Director of AT. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Community college coursework or associates degree preferred
  • Experience managing an equipment inventory
  • Experience with data entry
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing assistive technology services preferred but not required.
  • Three years’ experience working in the human service field and/or direcelty with adults and children with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology devices, software, accessibility features, adaptive equipment, alternative access methods, and individualized training strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to complete clear assessments, recommendations, documentation, trainings, and outreach materials.
  • Ability to take initiative to see projects through from beginning to end.
  • Ability to effectively set and shift priorities as needed.
  • Works independently and have problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals, families, caregivers, schools, providers, community partners, other Assistive Technology Professionals, and statewide Assistive Technology Regional Centers.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot equipment, manage loan center requests, maintain accurate records, and meet program documentation requirements.
  • Valid and current driver's license.
  • Satisfactory CORI, SORI, DPPC, and National Fingerprint background checks
